lyrics
I’m watching old friends unwind
By drawing lines in between colors
They illustrate what’s familiar
But even a pen can wander
I want to show empathy
I want a discourse
But when you crash a car at full speed it’s hard to learn without force
I stand to find some aloe vera
I can say so much about sunburnt skin
Because that’s the reddest neck I’ve seen on a friend
Now everyone is standing and my sister is crying
Is it too much to ask to be civilized?
Is it possible to not feel paralyzed?
I can only watch someone cry so many times
Oh to live as the fundamental slime
My sister stands
There’s no reason to stay
It’s enough for her to say
“Fuck it. And fuck you too. All you animals belong in a Zoo”
A hard woman is good to find
You’re god damn right that’s refined
I don’t feel very refined
When the world is unkind
It’s hard to feel refined
When the world begins to unwind
Laughing matter goes further down the path set out by plum diving into a sound that has even less reliance on fuzzy guitars. Id say its a bit long but more wand is never a bad thing and putting Jennifer's gone at the end is a great way to leave my overall impression positive. I like the emphasis on percussive instrumentation that some of the tracks have. savag3duck
