lyrics
Flash!
A bright light shines
Then gone
You're only awake for so long
Yet it feels so real
To pretend again
Amen
And to relate to that is a sad fact
What a pious, perennial pact
Oh to chase by twilight
To lean heavily on dim light
Like the sun’s gilded kiss over a moonlit sky
I yell for more light
The moon looks down
Cause wolf and owl see clearly at night
“Are you all right?”
“Christ, Moon,
Does it seem like I’m all right?”
I've been out here all night
In route chasing
Up the mountain side
So high
Up
Nailed to the rocks
Stoned
I’m spent
I’m loose
Unhinged
Awake
Crossing over
Somewhere yonder
I want it
I need it
I feel it
Words
Meaning
Words
Uncertain feeling
It’s fine
Everything is fine
That’s right
I’m here
Not there
I’m right
Here
Now
So
I’m in love
I’m inside of love
I think I’m in love
So I must be in love
Yes!
Maybe that’s the answer
Sometimes we need an answer
Out of the black
The mane shines through
Above that fading shadow
And to see it glow
That Drifting Palomino
It’s like falling through thin air
When
You’re so far
From where you came
And too old to hold on to
What it is you came for
Or where it is you came from
I’m going to die
There’s nothing wrong
With saying goodbye
Before I die
Maybe this is how I’ll say goodbye
To feel that steady come down
And to let go of that drifting palomino
And I’m falling through mid air

Laughing matter goes further down the path set out by plum diving into a sound that has even less reliance on fuzzy guitars. Id say its a bit long but more wand is never a bad thing and putting Jennifer's gone at the end is a great way to leave my overall impression positive. I like the emphasis on percussive instrumentation that some of the tracks have. savag3duck
