I could have left but still I linger
The town I grew up in bore no chance at a second wind
So Death became my friend

Late at night we made a pact
To live each day like it was the last
So Death and I made a game where every day was just the same
Each death carried no shame

I was never afraid with Death by my side
So one day I went for a ride
Through a wood chipper my body turned to paint and beat like a drum
It was there i was scattered like chum
Over the river
where the winter winds send a quiver
And the fish eat around my spine

My deaths were callus at the start
The more I died I played the part
In lessons for those who carry a gun
And treat everyone like a lesser seen as a jester

What if I was blown away?
I whispered in Death’s ear one day
A shotgun shell unloading shrapnel sharply cutting through my youth For books overdue

Up in heaven God looked down
Upon the Earth with a frown
Watching two friends live a life with no end

That was the day that God drew the line
Telling Death it was not my time
Death knew it was through we had our fun under the sun
I cried the day God won

All my rights were wronged that day
God sent Death away
So I cursed God’s name until they took away my tongue

Yet again it was God who won

Laughing matter goes further down the path set out by plum diving into a sound that has even less reliance on fuzzy guitars. Id say its a bit long but more wand is never a bad thing and putting Jennifer's gone at the end is a great way to leave my overall impression positive. I like the emphasis on percussive instrumentation that some of the tracks have. savag3duck
